Terms of Service

Welcome to Nelson Home & Co ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using our website, services, or engaging with us for interior design and home staging projects, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully as they govern your relationship with Nelson Home & Co.

Nelson Home & Co provides interior design, decorating, and home staging services. The specific scope of services for each project will be outlined in a written proposal or agreement that must be signed before work begins. Clients are responsible for providing accurate information about their project and ensuring access to the property as needed. Clients must also disclose any conditions that could affect the safety or successful completion of the project.

All designs, plans, mood boards, renderings, or creative concepts provided by Nelson Home & Co remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed to in writing. These materials are intended solely for the use of the client for whom they were created and may not be copied, reproduced, or reused without prior written consent.

Payment terms will be clearly outlined in each service agreement. A retainer or deposit may be required before work commences, and all invoices are due upon receipt unless otherwise specified. Late payments may incur a fee of 1.5% per month on any outstanding balance. Deposits and retainers are non-refundable. If a client cancels a project after work has begun, the client remains responsible for payment for all services rendered and any non-cancelable costs incurred up to the date of cancellation.

Nelson Home & Co may recommend or coordinate services with third-party vendors such as contractors, painters, or movers. While we may assist in coordinating these services, we are not responsible for the performance, actions, or omissions of any third-party vendor or contractor.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nelson Home & Co shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from or related to our services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total fees paid by the client for the project giving rise to the claim.

Nelson Home & Co. provides interior design, styling, procurement, and project coordination services only and does not perform construction, remodeling, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, or other trade-specific services. All contractors, subcontractors, tradespeople, installers, and vendors engaged on any project are independent third parties and are not employees, partners, agents, or affiliates of Nelson Home & Co., and Nelson Home & Co. does not control the means, methods, workmanship, materials, safety practices, scheduling, or performance of any such parties. While Nelson Home & Co. may recommend, introduce, or coordinate with licensed and insured professionals in their respective fields as a courtesy to the client, Nelson Home & Co. makes no warranties or guarantees regarding the quality, compliance, timing, or final outcome of work performed by third-party contractors or vendors. Nelson Home & Co. shall not be held responsible or liable for construction defects, workmanship issues, code or permit violations, design changes or substitutions made by contractors or vendors, project delays, cost overruns, material availability issues, structural or mechanical failures, or any damage, injury, or loss arising from contractor or vendor services. Any agreements, payments, warranties, insurance claims, or disputes related to contractor or vendor services are solely between the client and the respective third party, and by engaging Nelson Home & Co., the client acknowledges and agrees that Nelson Home & Co. is not legally responsible for the execution, construction, or final outcomes of any contractor- or vendor-performed work.

We reserve the right to photograph completed projects for our portfolio, website, and marketing purposes unless the client requests in writing, prior to completion, that photographs not be taken or used. Any personal information collected from clients will be used solely for the purpose of providing services and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time, and any changes will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any updated Terms.

To provide the most efficient service and competitive access to furnishings and décor, Nelson Home & Co. may place bulk or combined orders across multiple client projects. As a result, individual items within a client’s project may be purchased, shipped, or invoiced alongside other client orders. For privacy, contractual, and ethical reasons, specific sourcing details, vendor invoices, and cost allocations related to other clients will not be shared.

Client-facing invoices and summaries reflect the agreed-upon scope of services and approved project totals. Detailed vendor documentation, internal cost breakdowns, order batching details, and supplier communications remain confidential and are protected as proprietary business information.

By engaging Nelson Home & Co., clients acknowledge and agree that pricing transparency is provided at the project level, not at the individual vendor or wholesale level, and that vendor relationships, sourcing methods, and procurement strategies are private to Nelson Home & Co. and its partners.
